We Believe that the Bible, composed of the Old and New Testaments, is the divinely inspired Word of God, the all-sufficient written authority and trustworthy for faith and practice. It is to be interpreted responsibly under the guidance of the Holy Spirit within the community of faith. The primary purpose of the Bible is to point to Jesus Christ, the living Lord of the Church.

We Believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through Him all things were made. For us and for our salvation He came down from heaven; by the power of the Holy Spirit He became incarnate from the virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered death and was buried. On the third day He rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will have no end.

We Believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son He is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the prophets.

We Believe the true Church is built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the chief cornerstone. Together we are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God. The Church is an assembly of the redeemed who have entered into a New Covenant with God. Each person who has become a member of God’s household by receiving Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior is fitted together into this assembly which rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. Together the redeemed become the Body of Christ, the Church, and the gates of hell cannot stand against it. The Church exists universally and locally in, through, and because of Jesus Christ, and it is God’s primary way to accomplish His purposes on earth today.

We Believe that salvation is God’s gracious gift of eternal life, given mercifully to a fallen humanity— fallen meaning sinful and separated. We believe that salvation comes only through Jesus Christ, and that the cost of human redemption and reconciliation to God was completely satisfied by His suffering and death on the cross. God raised Jesus from death as an effectual confirmation of Jesus’ sacrifice on our behalf. God makes this salvation available, freely and without cost, to anyone who confesses Jesus as Lord, and believes in their heart that God raised Him from the dead. God’s offer of salvation is by grace through faith and not achieved in any way by our own works.

We Believe Christ instituted two ordinances for His people. Baptism is administered by immersion in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, to all those who profess repentance towards God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Baptism is a symbol of the believer’s union with Christ in His death and resurrection, of forgiveness of sins and of the believer’s identification with the visible body of Christ. The Lord’s Supper is done in remembrance of Jesus; as a proclamation of His sacrifice offered once for all on the cross of Calvary for our redemption; it is a time of looking forward to Christ’s future return, and it is a communion with the present risen Christ and with fellow believers.
